TEAM DRESSES & SOLO DRESSES
There are two different types of competition costumes. A Team dress (also referred to as a "school dress" or "traditional dress") that is specific to your dance school and a Solo dress that is unique to the individual dancer. Colors and designs are chosen to set you apart from other schools and dancers. The Cass-Barrington Academy school colors are blue and orange, and the school costume design incorporates traditional Celtic knotwork taken from the Book of Kells - an ancient Irish manuscript of elaborate illustrations. School dresses are worn when dancers compete in team events and in the lower solo competition levels.
Once a dancer reaches the higher levels of solo competitions, they are eligible to wear a Solo dress. Dancers typically get to choose their own colors, designs, and general style of their Solo dress. Boys dancers will typically wear dress pants with a dress shirt and tie, and sometimes will sport a vest or jacket.
